On Monday evening, a seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a stray dog attacked in Kortedala in Gothenburg.
Dog owner not found
The dog was searched by several police patrols with vehicles and “snares”. It took an hour until the dog was captured.
As of Tuesday, the dog’s owner has not yet been found following Monday night’s incident.
– We have a picture of who the dog owner is, but it has not been confirmed yet. We have not managed to make contact with the person, says August Brandt, press spokesperson at the police.
The boy has undergone surgery

– The boy’s condition is stable and not life-threatening. I have no information on whether he will receive a permanent sentence or not, says August Brandt, press officer at the police to the newspaper.

The case is classified as grievous bodily harm for the time being.
A large number of people witnessed when the loose dog attacked the boy, who is seven years old.
– It happened in a relatively densely populated area, so there were many witnesses and many who were scared, says Brandt.
No euthanasia decision has been made
The dog was later captured and is currently placed in a dog kennel.
The police write on their website that no euthanasia decision has been taken, but that such a decision in that case is made via the County Administrative Board.
