The alarm came just after lunch that a teenage boy had been beaten by a man near a school in Västerås.
– According to the caller, a man passed by with an object and hit the boy, who started bleeding profusely, says police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin.
It is unclear if the boy is a student at the school and it is also not known if he had any connection to the perpetrator.
– It seems that this person just passed by and hit the boy, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance and has not yet been heard from at 1.20pm. His injury status is unclear.
The police are now talking to the caller and possibly more witnesses to the incident to find out more. No one is in custody and it is unclear if there are any suspects.
