Bouygues Telecom is launching the guaranteed Wi-Fi option, which allows you to maintain an Internet connection even when the landline is cut. It is available at no additional cost to new Bbox Ultym subscribers.
Bouygues Telecom is in a seduction operation at the moment! While the war to win subscribers rages, the operator upgraded, a few days ago, some of its B&You customers from 4G to 5G, at no additional cost and for life, while offering new offers integrating them. also 5G (see our article). Enough to retain its users while attracting new customers! But it doesn’t forget its Internet offers! In a press release, Bouygues Telecom announces the launch, in the Bbox Ultym offer, of its new “Guaranteed Wi-Fi” service, which allows you to automatically remain connected to the Internet in the event of an optical fiber outage. No need to wait for the network to be restored or for the box to be replaced, or to use the mobile connection of your smartphone!
Bouygues guaranteed Wi-Fi: Internet even in the event of an outage
The Guaranteed Wi-Fi option is presented as a “automatic solution to stay connected all the time, even in the event of an Internet outage”. The principle is simple: a physical 4G USB key takes over from the fiber if the latter is cut, automatically allowing the box to continue to broadcast its Wi-Fi. In this way, the paired equipment (computers, smartphones, connected thermostat, etc.) remain connected without the need for any settings, with the exception of the mobile phone and the TV. This service also provides access to 50 GB per month to use while traveling throughout mainland France – a bit like what Free offers with pocket Wi-Fi, which offers 200 GB to Freebox subscribers.
The guaranteed Wi-Fi service is accessible to all new Bbox Ultym subscribers. You simply have to order it at the same time as the Internet box. “We are actively working to make this service also available to our ‘already’ Bbox Ultym customers soon”assures the operator.
As a reminder, the Bbox Ultym offer with fiber from Bouygues Telecom is available for 42.99 euros per month during the first year of the commitment, with the first 3 months free, then at 47.99 euros per month. HAS At this price, subscribers benefit from a download speed of 2 Gbit/s and an upload speed of 900 Mbit/s. In addition, Amazon Prime, Universal+ and Cafeyn are offered for one year.
