Botany Manor is a botanical puzzle game from Balloon Studios, set in 1890s England. While we grow flowers, we also learn about the historical building.
Botany Manor (Botanical Mansion), home to retired botanist Arabella Greene. Over a long career, he has amassed a collection of rare, long-forgotten plants that require some research to help them come alive again. Playing as Arabella, we will look for clues in her notes, books, posters and belongings scattered around the residence to determine the right conditions that will help vegetation thrive. This game, in which we also explore the striking historical mansion, also contains a lot of information about botany, as the name suggests.
Botany Manor: A Botanical Puzzle Adventure from Balloon Studios
Narrated by creative director Laure De Mey of Balloon Studios, Botany Manor is a first-person botanical puzzle game that transports you to 1890s Somerset, England. In addition to growing flowers, the game includes various features such as obtaining by-products such as apple juice, planting at the right time, and communicating with Morse code. Our aim is to discover and cultivate the mysterious flowers in the book Forgotten Flora.
Of course, everything is not that easy. Over time, we unlock new seeds and obtain plants from them. Interactive elements that can be rotated and translated around the property provide information to help you solve each garden puzzle, cultivate plants, and discover their mysterious qualities.
Botany Manor is more than just a game about growing plants, it offers players in-depth information about the biology of plants. You can examine seeds under a microscope, learn how various plants grow, and especially scientific concepts such as the functioning of the chloroplast. You must gather all the information needed to grow the flowers; This process involves detailed planning to meet the specific conditions required for flowers to grow.
Laure De Mey and her team designed Botany Manor’s gameplay so that players can apply their real-life botanical knowledge as they grow flowers and other plants. Inspired by the part of improving Lara Croft’s house in Tomb Raider, the game aims to offer a calmer and more productive spending time instead of battle scenes.
