Boswachter Flowering heather looks fantastic but could use some variation

Zwaan: “The purple flowering heather looks fantastic, but that does not mean that it is doing very well from an ecological point of view. The heather plants only flower for a very short time and then nectar is available for all kinds of insects, which is good for reptiles and birds.” But a beautifully varied heath landscape is not only purple, says Zwaan. “You should also find other flowers, plants, grasses and the like. We often see that the heath landscape that only consists of heather and no longer of other species that are also so important.”
