Bosse Petersson’s harsh criticism of Jon Dahl Tomasson

Hugo Larsson behaved immaturely and hastily according to football expert Bosse Petersson. At the same time, he thinks that Jon Dahl Tomasson was wrong from the very beginning.
Now he hopes that they can both make peace again.
– It was unwise and something I was surprised by. That is, of course, a conversation between the player and the national team captain, he tells Expressen.

The big sports talk of the weekend was undoubtedly that Hugo Larsson20, left the Swedish national team gathering before the Nations League match against Estonia due to a conflict with the national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The association explained that the midfielder’s departure had to do with a minor injury, but few believed that there was any truth in that. The fact that the player also trained with his club team Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday did not make the statement more credible.

Raging against Tomasson’s behavior

One who questions Jon Dahl Tomasson’s choice to publicly “out” what he and Hugo Larsson talked about behind closed doors is the former player, coach and football expert Boss Petersson78. He understands that Larsson took offense when the national team captain told the media that he wants the 20-year-old to hit more vertical passes rather than lateral passes.

– It was unwise and something I was surprised by. That is, of course, a conversation between the player and the national team captain. There are many players in this generation who played a lot sideways and backwards. It is an adjustment that I am convinced that Hugo Larsson can adapt to, says Bosse to Expressen.

He both hopes and believes that the player and the national team captain will come to a solution and that Larsson will already be selected in the next national team squad. Sweden plays against Slovakia and Estonia in the Nations League in October.

Since Hugo Larsson is “a 20-year-old who should be able to play in the national team for the next ten years”, Petersson advises him to make peace with his Danish mentor. This is the TV expert’s advice:

– Clench your fist in your trouser pocket and show that you really want the place. There is no other way. The only thing he can do is apologize for the reptilian brain ruling too strongly. It is of course natural for a 20-year-old, but he should raise his hand and say “I was wrong”, he says.

He ends with a quiet appeal to Hugo Larsson.

– Hugo, think now so you don’t waste all your chances. Take a breath and sit down and talk to Jon Dahl Tomasson. So that you don’t sit like a 78-year-old and regret things you did 40 years ago.

Just shake hands and let this flow off you. Of course, Hugo Larsson will play in the national team, but he has to accept that it is Jon Dahl Tomasson who decides.
