Boss takes revenge on players after the dungeon ends, sending void spells across the entire world for 3.8 million damage

Every now and then things happen in the World of Warcraft that are so strange that you almost automatically imagine what a suitable introduction by Jonathan Frakes on X-Factor: The Unbelievable would sound like.

What happened? On Reddit, WoW player EndTheEnd reports that he visited the Grim Batol dungeon and successfully defeated the local final boss Erudax. As soon as he had bagged the last loot, he went on to Azj-Kahet. So far, so normal. Three minutes later, his character unexpectedly found himself standing next to the spiritual healer.

Out of nowhere, he was hit by five Void Surge hits for a total of 3.8 million damage. Void Suction is an ability of Erudax that causes void tentacles to erupt from the ground, dealing Shadow damage every 0.5 seconds.

But how can that be? After all, the boss had already been defeated for several minutes and EndTheEnd was miles away from the dungeon.
