For six weeks now, the Bosnian Serb leaders have initiated the secession of one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republika Srpska. The political leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik wants to break away from the federal state and build parallel institutions.
While many fear a resumption of conflict, this separation is a nightmare for survivors of ethnic cleansing who returned to live on their land in the 2000s. Bosnians in eastern Bosnia are worried about these new political tensions, 26 years after the end of the war.
