Borrell called the Venezuelan regime a dictatorship | News in brief

Venezuelan authorities say they have arrested six foreigners suspected of plotting to destabilize the country through violence

Responsible for the external relations of the European Union Josep Borrell harshly criticized the president of Venezuela on Sunday Nicolas Maduro regime as dictatorial in an interview with a Spanish television channel.

According to Borrell, more than 2,000 people have been arrested in arbitrary arrests since July’s presidential election, political parties have been severely restricted and the opposition’s presidential candidate has been driven into exile.

– Why is all this called? It is an authoritarian and dictatorial regime. Stating that doesn’t help anything, but we should try to solve the matter, Borrell said.

Venezuelan authorities, on the other hand, said they had arrested six foreigners suspected of plotting to destabilize the country through violence
