Börje’s daughter: “A death sentence – but you don’t know when it will happen”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Börje Salming passed away from the disease ALS on November 24 last year. Since he went public with the news that he had ALS, he has been praised several times, both in Sweden and abroad, and today the Game for Börje tribute match is played in Gävle. News morning is hosted by Börje’s daughter Teresa Salming, who tells how the disease ALS affects the whole family.

— From one day to the next, life changes. It is a catastrophic state of crisis and panic. You find out that the one you love has a death sentence, which you don’t really know when it will happen. It is a family illness that demands a lot from everyone. Dad also panicked when he got a message like this, it’s the worst thing you can get, says Teresa Salming.

Jenny: How did you handle it?
— We all had a life crisis that we will lose someone we love and who is so close to us. We had no idea what ALS was, she says in Nyhetsmorgon.

So ALS also affects the relatives – see the clip in the player above.
