Gray’s report says police found out that the corona restrictions were breached at least eight times in total between the spring of 2020 and the spring of 2021. Restrictions were enacted in the UK by a law that came into force in March 2020. The restrictions did not allow any gatherings to be held indoors.

– The high-level political and civil service leadership at the heart of the matter must take responsibility for this culture, the report says.

According to the findings of the Gray report, many of the events investigated were not at all in line with interest rate regulations and guidelines.

– Numerous examples were also brought to my attention of the lack of respect and ill-treatment of security staff and cleaners. This is unacceptable.

Gray does not recommend or address possible penalties or sanctions in his report because it was not within his jurisdiction, but states that the conduct has not been acceptable.

– The public has a right to expect that such posts will only be conducted to the highest possible standards. It is clear that this has not happened.

Part of Gray’s report was already published in January, but the full report was not published at the time, as London police had also launched their own investigation into the matter.

The House of Commons will present the report at the Prime Minister’s official Question Time today. Johnson is also expected to hold a press conference on the issue and attend the Conservative meeting.
