Borderlands maker Gearbox is working on 9 AAA games, according to the latest fiscal quarter report from umbrella company Embracer Group.
Borderlands producer Gearbox looks pretty busy. According to the last financial quarter report of the giant game company Embracer Group, which also includes Gearbox, Gearbox 9 is in the process of developing a new AAA game. Embracer Group was on the agenda with the sale of Square Enix Tomb Raider and Deus Ex.
Borderlands maker Gearbox isn’t sitting idle
It is not yet known which wing of Gearbox, which has both producer and publisher sections, the new games are included in. Embracer Group made the following statements in its financial report:
” Gearbox continues to work on its ambitious growth plan and currently 9 new AAA games are in development.”
The games Gearbox is known to be working on at the moment are Homeworld 3, Hyper Light Breaker, Relic Hunters Legends, Have a Nice Death, and Eyes in the Dark: The Curious Case of One Victoria Bloom, but according to some, most of these games are “AAA games” does not fall into the category.
Another important game Gearbox is known to be working on is Tales From The Borderlands 2. Revenues of roof company Embracer Group grew by 17 percent thanks to better-than-expected sales of games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Embracer Group said sales of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands “exceeded the expectations of the executive team”.
