President of the United States Joe Biden awards America’s highest civilian award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, to 19 people.
The group includes distinguished names in entertainment, sports, fashion and politics. A basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnsona soccer star Lionel MessiActors Denzel Washington and Michael J. Foxa fashion designer Ralph Laurensinger Bonofashion editor Anna Wintoura billionaire George Sorosformer foreign minister Hillary Clinton.
The director of the World Central Kitchen NGO will also receive a badge of merit Jose Andres. In April, seven employees of the World Kitchen food aid organization were killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza.
In the White House’s award justifications, it was told about the recipients’ “exceptionally great contribution to the good of the United States and the world”.
