The alarm came in at 8:46 p.m. after an employee in the police station discovered an object suspected of being dangerous.
– The dangerous object is in a place in the police station there but needs authorization to enter, and does not affect the part where the arrest or the reception is located, says the police’s press spokesperson Towe Hägg.
Evacuated and cordoned off
Parts of the police station were evacuated and cordoned off, and the National Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
At 22.15, Towe Hägg, press spokesperson at the police, announces that the object has been found to be harmless.
– The effort is finished, she says.
The item examined by bomb technicians has been in the police station for some time, and will remain as it is harmless.
The part of the police station that was cordoned off can now be used.
