Bomb laden UAV attack on the US base in Erbil A

The Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) Counter-Terrorism Unit published a statement on the issue on its official Facebook page.

In the statement, it was noted that an attack was carried out on Harir Base with a bomb-laden UAV at 19.15, and a fire broke out in the fuel tank of the base due to the attack. It is not yet known whether anyone died or was injured in the attack.

The statement also included information that “the base was evacuated on October 20.” In its statement in the afternoon, the KRG Counter-Terrorism Unit stated that the base in Harir was attacked with two bomb-laden UAVs last night, and that there was no loss of life, injury or damage in the incident. The town of Harir is located approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Erbil.

THE CONVOY WAS ALSO ATTACKED

In the city of Mosul, a bomb attack was carried out on a military convoy consisting of the US and Iraqi armies. It is not known whether anyone was killed or injured in the attack by detonating a roadside bomb near the Mosul Dam on the convoy containing Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Unit and US soldiers.
Following Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, attacks on bases housing US soldiers in Iraq and Syria increased. Most of the attacks were claimed by the group called Iraqi Islamic Resistance, under the umbrella of pro-Iran Shiite militia groups. (AA-IHA)
