Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro chose to remain completely silent during a police interrogation related to suspicions that he planned a coup in order to retain power after losing the 2022 election.
Investigators believe that far-right ex-president and former military man Bolsonaro led coup plotters who challenged the electoral system and thus the result that saw Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva victorious.
Bolsonaro has previously denied all accusations.
The interrogation on Thursday was conducted at federal police headquarters in the capital, Brasilia.
