Munich – Femke Bol can still surprise herself. A heartfelt ‘wow’ came out of her mouth after her golden race in the 400 meters at the European Athletics Championships in Munich. Bol won the final in 49.44 seconds, a Dutch record and the best time of this season in Europe. “Winning in such a time is unbelievable. It’s bizarre,” she said to the NOS camera. “I felt very good, strong and had a lot of confidence in it. But I didn’t expect it to go so well. I only dreamed of that.”
