Now Bojan has also broken his silence to talk about his feelings after the incident in the Viaplay studio.
– I stand by my beliefs and values. I am passionate about these questions, which are based on my own experiences since I came to Sweden in 1992. I want to unite and build bridges in a divided society and would rather be clear and uncomfortable than unclear and comfortable. If you don’t understand the importance of what happened in our broadcast, it is an inherent structural problem. Although Janne says it was not his intention, I understood that it became a question about my origin and it made me hurt and disappointed in my national team captain, he says in a press release from the television channel.

The TV channel also speaks out in the press release and takes a serious view of the situation with the Swedish national team captain who was so harsh on one of their employees.
– We at Viaplay Group are incredibly proud to broadcast much of the world’s best sports in eleven European countries and we always put both big investments and both soul and heart into our coverage of the sports. What we do is always surrounded by many points of view, positive as well as negative. It is exactly as it should be. Sports engage! But when engagement turns into personal attacks in general and, in the way we saw yesterday in particular, a very important line is crossed for us – a line that must never be crossed. A relevant and correctly asked question must be answered with respect for the person who asked it. I am very proud to have Bojan in the team. He is committed, experienced and always well-read. Who he is and what he represents deserve much better than this from one of football Sweden’s most important representatives. I and the entire Viaplay Group stand behind him one hundred percent. We have noted Janne Andersson’s apology, and now the dialogue between us and the union continues, says Anders Jensenpresident of Viaplay, in the press release.
