People should also run water softeners through a regeneration cycle, drain and refill hot water tanks tat are set below 45C – the normal setting is 60C – and replace water filters used to filter untreated water, officials said in the news release.

If water has been used to flush toilets or take showers and baths, flushing cold water taps isn’t necessary, officials said.

For more information contact public health at 1-800-667-1839, or Plympton-Wyoming at 519-845-3939, officials said.
