Withings announced its new generation of connected scale, which has become a real health station. It will make it possible to precisely analyze the composition of the body, and monitor several indicators of heart health and nervous activity.

The CES 2022 electronics fair (Consumer Electronics Show) has already started, with online conferences from different brands ahead of the opening of the event tomorrow in Las Vegas. The French manufacturer Withings is present this year with a whole new generation of connected scale which looks more like a medical station.
the Body Scan is filled with sensors. Thanks to a retractable handle, it will be able to perform electrocardiograms 6-lead and analyze the body composition by segmentation (distribution of mass muscle and fat in the trunk, arms and legs). To do this, the health station contains fourteen electrodes indium tin oxide on the base and four on the handle. It also incorporates four weight sensors with an accuracy of 50 grams.

Detection of markers of heart health and type 2 diabetes
The device is thus able to measure heart rate and detect problems such as atrial fibrillation or to estimate the vascular age. The scale will also be able to detect peripheral neuropathies, a complication of Type 2 diabetes. The device evaluates the capacity of sweat glands, an indicator of nervous activity, by diffusing a direct current via the electrodes.
The scale displays all information directly on a LCD screen 3.2 inch, and can be synced with Android or iOS smartphone. Withings announced a one-year battery life and the device will be available in black and white. The launch is scheduled for the second half of 2022 at a price of 299.95 euros.
