    Early on Tuesday morning, the police and emergency services were alerted that black smoke was rising in central Enköping.

    At the scene, it turned out that a boat, set up on a trailer, had started to burn, the police write on their website.

    The last original member of the classic soul band The Four Tops, Abdul “Duke” Fakir, has passed away, writes Rolling Stone Magazine. He lived to be 88 years old. Abdul Fakir was the first son of The Four Tops and the last living original member before he passed away at home in Detroit.

    The band was formed in the early 1950s in Detroit. In 1956, they changed their name to The Four Tops and became one of the Motown record company’s great successes. Among their big hits are “Baby, I need your lovin”, “Reach out, I’ll be there” and “I can’t help myself (sugar pie honey bunch)”.

  • Suspected bullet holes through windows in Malmö

    The police were alerted on Monday evening to an address in Malmö.

    On site, suspected bullet holes are found in the window of a glazed balcony.

    No one is said to have been physically harmed.

    The police have held interviews and carried out a crime scene investigation.

    The incident is now being investigated as an unlawful threat.

  • Man stabbed – found on footpath

    A man in his 30s was found shortly after the 01 stabbing in Malmö.

    He was lying on a cycle track in the Sofielund area and had been stabbed in the back.

    – He has been taken to hospital in an ambulance, says the police external commander on the spot to Aftonbladet’s photographer.

    The police’s internal commander Peter Tobisson states for Sydsvenskan that the victim was jumped on by a man unknown to him.

    The injuries are considered minor.

    – He could call the police himself, says Peter Tobisson to the newspaper.

  • Suspected robbery and attempted murder

    Witnesses saw how a man in his 50s was assaulted and robbed in Sundbyberg shortly after 8.30pm on Monday evening.

    The police have not found the victim, but have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and robbery.

    – Witnesses have seen two young perpetrators who fled in different directions. Possibly they may have known the plaintiff, says Ola Österling at the police’s regional command centre.

  • At least 55 dead in landslides in Ethiopia

    At least 55 people have been killed in a landslide in a remote part of southern Ethiopia, local authorities said.

    The landslide occurred after heavy downpours in the mountainous region.

    Pictures on Facebook show people using their bare hands to dig through the soil to search for survivors.

    Southern Ethiopia has been hit by floods after heavy seasonal rain in the spring. Thousands of residents have been forced to move and the torrential rains have caused extensive damage to infrastructure and crops.

  • Suspected shooting in Hagsätra

    Several people called the police this evening after hearing loud bangs in Hagsätra in southern Stockholm.

    Witnesses must also have seen the event itself.

    “The police command center has received several calls about sightings of shooting,” the police write on their website.

    You are currently on site with several units. No injured person is said to have been found.

    – I heard six to seven shots. Shortly afterwards, the police came and cordoned off an area outside the store, says a witness.

    The subway between Hagsätra and Rågsved sen has been closed since 20:44, according to SL.

    A woman in her 70s was taken to hospital by ambulance on Monday afternoon after a drowning alarm at a bathing place outside Umeå, reports Västerbottens-Kuriren.

    The woman is now being cared for in the intensive care unit with life-threatening injuries, according to the Västerbotten region.

    – A person has been pulled out of the water, it is considered serious, said RLC commander Michael Saveman to TT earlier.

  • Fight after traffic accident

    Two motorists have been beaten in a parking lot in Skogås in Huddinge.

    – In connection with the wrong parking, the drivers have started fighting, says the press spokesman at the police’s regional command center in Stockholm.

    One of the drivers was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The extent of the damage is unclear.

    Passengers and nearby residents had also joined in the conflict that arose after the traffic accident.

    – Only the drivers have been beaten.

    A similar incident occurred in Vällingby yesterday, when a motorist and a motorcyclist smoked together after a traffic accident.
