(Finance) – The numbers as a concrete sign of a commitment that grows and is renewed year after year: over 7.8 million euros are the result of the 2022 funding of BNL BNP Paribas and the Group companies in Italy in favor of the Telethon Foundation, for scientific research on rare genetic diseases. The figure is 7% higher than that achieved last year.
The announcement came in live on Rai 1 by a representation of colleagues from BNL BNP Paribas, in the presence of Alessandro Betti, Telethon Fundraising Manager.
Tuscany, Piedmont, Campania, Veneto, Puglia, Friuli Venezia Giulia are just some of the regions that have distinguished themselves the most in donations this year, followed by all the others in a competition of national solidarity which however sees all winners.
Amounts to around 330 million euros the total in the 31-year partnership between BNL BNP Paribas and the Telethon Foundation, one of the major fund raising initiatives in Europe. So far 2,804 research projects and the activity of 1,676 researchers have been supported; 2 gene therapies approved, 137 patients treated and 6 clinical studies in progress.

This year, moreover, we have returned to organizing events in solidarity with the public at dozens of BNL BNP Paribas agencies in the area, extraordinarily open today until 6 pm to welcome those who wish to make their donation. Tonight, in collaboration with the Bank, the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari will participate in the collection for Telethon with the General Rehearsal of La Traviata. On the other hand, the traditional Udine Relay, which enlivened the city centre, has just ended with its usual success.
