Finansinspektionen has issued a sharp warning for eight companies that you should stay away.
“Fraudsters often use invented companies to deceive their victims into money. Now FI warns for eight new company names that work without permission,” they write on their own website.
In its warning, the authority is addressed to the Swedish people and urges you to avoid the company names that have been able to identify. It is about:
Synonymous for all eight players is that they do not have a permit to conduct financial operations in Sweden. The fraudsters behind the company names say they offer everything from investments and loans to other banking services and products, says Finansinspektionen.
– The fraudsters are constantly finding new ways and working under new names to be fooled on money. It is important to never transfer money to companies you do not know. By searching in our company register, you can check if a particular company has received permission from us, says Moa Langemark, consumer protection economist FI, in a Press release.
So far in 2025, the authority has warned of a total of 14 fake companies that you should be observant of and avoid.
