Landry, Bluewater’s chief nursing executive and vice-president of clinical support services, will become Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s vice-president of restorative care and chief nursing executive in September, the hospitals said this week.

“We are deeply grateful for Shannon’s leadership and the transformative impact she has had on our hospital over the past eight years,” Paula Reaume-Zimmer, Bluewater Health’s president and chief executive, said in a joint release.

Landry transformed Bluewater Health’s professional practice supervisor model, led a health human resources strategy, spearheaded integration of quality and risk programs, and sponsored the organization’s Culture of Kindness, he said.

“Her relentless drive for excellence and her commitment to patient care have left a lasting legacy,” Reaume-Zimmer said. “While we will miss her greatly, we wish her all the best in her new role with our partners at HDGH.”

The Windsor Hospital said Landry’s role will include contributing to the strategic direction and operational oversight of nursing and clinical best practice to deliver exceptional patient and family-centred care in the restorative care program.

“Her extensive experience and proven leadership abilities will undoubtedly enhance the quality of care we provide to our patients,” said Bill Marra, the Windsor hospital’s president and CEO.

“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her increasingly complex roles within acute care and at the ministry level,” he added. “As a Windsor native, we look forward to welcoming Shannon and her husband home.”

Landry is a registered nurse with a diploma from St. Clair College and degrees from McMaster University and the University of Toronto, the release said. She spent the last 24 years in leadership roles, including 14 years in executive posts.

She’s also been active on community organization boards, he said.

Bluewater Health, which has hospitals in Sarnia and Petrolia, said it is recruiting for a new chief nursing executive and vice-president of clinical support services.
