Bluewater Gymnastics Club wins big at Mississauga meet

Gymnasts from Bluewater Gymnastics Club owned the podium during an April 22-24 meet in Mississauga.

The club fielded competitors in a variety of levels and age ranges and came away with medals galore.

In the Xcel Bronze 7-years division, Olivia Van Hooft finished third on vault, third on bars and third all around while Lola Rae finished third on floor. In the Xcel Bronze 8-years division, Molly Byers finished first on vault, third on beam and second on floor for a first all around finish. Juliet Roberts finished second on vault and second all around. And Jordyn Nisbet finished third on vault, first on bars for a third all around finish.

Xcel Silver 8-years competitor Liliane Brosseau dominated, finishing first on vault, first on bars, first on beam, first on floor to take the first all around position. Xcel Silver 13-year-old athlete Peyton took third on vault, first on beam and third on floor for first all around.

Xcel Gold 9-10-years gymnast Tiiloon Nanang finished third on vault, first on bars, second on beam for a second all around. Xcel Gold 13-year-old competitor Leah Stephens took second on vault. Xcel Gold 14-years gymnast Jaime Woodburn finished first on vault while 15-years competitor Kaydence Matheson finished first on vault, third on beam and second on floor for second all around.

In the Level 2 class, 8-year-old gymnast Ryann Janoska finished first on vault, third on bars, second on beam and second on floor for first all around position. 9-year-old gymnast Sasha Roop finished second on beam and first on floor for second all around.

Keala Pickard represented Sarnia in the Level 3, 12-years division, picking up a second on bars, first on beam and second on floor for a second all around finish. In the Level 4, 9-years competition, Ashley Babin finished first on beam, while in the Level 7 10-12-years division, Calista Babin finished second on bars.
