Blue-yellow medal success – the coach: “Very emotional”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

When Hanna Öberg went out after her fourth and last shooting – a total of one miss – she was 14 seconds behind Linn Persson from the fence.

Öberg was sharper in the track and finally won the WC gold, ten seconds ahead of Persson who shot full.

Double blue-yellow medal success, the sixth medal in the World Cup in Oberhof – a tantalizing Swedish World Cup record.

— I really believed that we have a very good medal chance today, but that we succeed with a WC gold and have two on the podium… that is very big. In a distance, we all know that it can shift back and forth, says Lukas.

— Hanna is superb, she shoots a barrier early but holds the race together well. Linn… she just shoots the dots down. I am really impressed.

The gold medal was also Sweden’s first in the world championship.

— I was thinking the other day about the award ceremony, it was nice to hear the German national anthem, but I want to hear the Swedish one sometime and now we have it, it’s awesome, says Lukas, who comes from Germany.

In SVT’s studio, TV expert Wolfgang Pichler cried after the blue-yellow medal success.

Even Lukas was close to tears in the mixed zone.

— I’m on the edge, everything goes so fast. You have to recharge every day, it’s very emotional, he says.
