As the proverbial good cop, we could now tell you in a positive mood that there will be a brand new Blue Bloods series. It is currently being developed by the production company Awesomeness and has even found a showrunner in Jacquie Walters.
As a bad cop, however, we would destroy your law and order dreams, because the whole thing has little to do with the popular police procedural Blue Bloods, which is nicknamed Crime Scene New York – even though the series in question is also set in the big city of NYC. It’s just more supernatural than the police allow.
The upcoming Blue Bloods is not a cop drama, but a vampire series
Blue Bloods is an adaptation of the vampire novel series of the same name written by Melissa de la Cruz. The series is available in Germany as The Immortals The first volume is titled Daughter of Darkness. This refers to the 17-year-old protagonist Sky, the first half-vampire who is still half human.

As a newcomer to the prestigious Duchesne Institute, Sky must find her place in the Society of blood-sucking blue bloods while a vicious breed of vampires returns and threatens the immortal elite of Manhattan.
Original author De La Cruz, who is also responsible for the novels for Witches of East End and Descendants, is thrilled, according to Deadline:
I’m so excited to bring my Blue Bloods series to life with the team at Awesomeness, Gotham, 3Arts, and our incredible writer Jacquie Walters, who understands my story and characters deeply. I can’t wait to finally see it on screen!
Eight vampire novels (plus comic adaptation) were published from 2006 onwards for Blue Bloods, which for the time being only the working title for the series Because of the risk of confusion with certain TV cops, you should perhaps really reconsider the name. Even if the vampires in book form enjoy seniority.
No broadcaster or streaming service has yet been tied to the series project. A potential spin-off of the cop format Blue Bloods is being considered by CBS, but is still at the very beginning of the development process.
