Hackers supported by the Chinese government have gained access to the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to files on the computer. This is reported by Bloomberg News, referring to two sources familiar with the matter.
According to Bloomberg’s data, the US Treasury Department underwent a more extensive data breach, in which hackers gained access to less than 50 files on the minister’s computer. The files were not classified as secret, the sources say.
In addition, the hackers were also able to break into the computers of two assistants to the Minister of Finance.
The data breach reportedly took place last December.
