Bloody Tarantino masterpiece disappears from Netflix

Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of genre cinema. He was particularly fond of westerns, as can be seen from various references in his early work. Still, it took a surprisingly long time for Tarantino to make his first real western delivered. It finally happened ten years ago with Django Unchained.

You can currently watch the almost three-hour western epic on Netflix. At the May 31, 2022 Django Unchained disappears however, from the catalog of the streaming service. So you have one week left to lose yourself in the beautiful yet terrifying imagery of this outstanding Tarantino film.

Django Unchained tells the story of the slave Django (Jamie Foxx), who was killed by the German dentist Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) is freed. As it turns out, Schultz is actually a bounty hunter. From now on he takes Django under his wing, who does everything to to find his great love again.

Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) is in the clutches of the diabolical plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) – and very few can match him. Together with Schultz, Django devises a risky plan to free Broomhilda. It doesn’t take long for blood to be shed.

In Django Unchained, Tarantino can play to many of his strengths: Great characters exchange even greater dialogue. Join in countless references to film history and a soundtrack that you can listen to on a continuous loop. And at this point we haven’t even talked about the amazing cast.

Jamie Foxx shines in the leading role, while Christoph Waltz shines again under Tarantino’s precise direction after Inglourious Basterds. The biggest scene thief in Django Unchained, however, it is Leonardo DiCaprio, who skillfully plays the part of the antagonist between pointed caricature and serious threat.
