Farming herbs in WoW Classic is still a problem, because bots dominate the market. And Blizzard just made it worse.
Bots are a problem in all larger MMORPGs and World of Warcraft is also affected-but the Classic Realms is particularly affected. Here it is usually particularly easy to recognize such bots and often snap the game world. Something that Blizzard now wanted to change for an important resource. But the “improvement” only gave the bots more power.

What is the problem? On the Classic Realms it is common to stock up for Raids with vials. This is important for endgame content, especially on hardcore realms you can lose the character very bitterly. These long -lasting potions provide particularly strong effects, but need a very rare reagent in production: black lotus.
Black lotus appears in fixed places in the game world. However, this means that these places are not only besieged by players, but also by numerous bots. Sometimes these are even “under” the game world and cannot be stopped at all. They harvest the lotus as soon as it appears and then earn a golden nose.
The gold won in this way is then sold again to the community – a actually illegal business, but Blizzard simply does not constantly become master.
How did Blizzard want to fix the problem? The developers’ solution provided for simply lifting the spawn rate of the black lotus. That should rinse more lotus on the market, so lower prices and ensure greater availability of the bottles.
In reality, however, this only ensured that the bots in particular get to lotus even faster and even more often. Since the bots dictate the price and do not undercut each other, this means that the offer has increased, but the price has remained stable.
The only ones that have previously benefited from the change are the bot operators.
The topic in WoW Classic is also discussed accordingly negatively:
You have already fixed the Lotus problem several times, even then in TBC you understood that it was a problem and did it in such a way that future reagents can drop from high-level herbs. […]
Are you still trying to satisfy the “No Changes” people? (all 5 that have remained of it)

What does the community suggest? The community has long wanted an adaptation, as is the case after “The Burning Crusade” and many other extensions of World of Warcraft. The “particularly rare” resource is not at fixed spawn points, but can occasionally be found as additional prey in other high-level herbs.
This would make the bingle of the fixed spawn points unattractive, withdraw the bots and at the same time ensure that normal players can also get black lotus from time to time.
It is not entirely clear why Blizzard resists this solution, which is also used in “Season of Discovery”. However, it is clear that the community is not satisfied with the latest changes and the game feeling has not been improved. Only the bot operators can make just thicker profits.
Not even the 5 strongest orcs that Warcraft has ever seen against the bots.
