Blizzard shows your 4 new best friends at gamescom

At gamescom, we finally got a glimpse of one of the new features in Vessel of Hatred. There was initial material on the Mercenaries. These are new companions that support you in the fight against hordes of demons.

What does the new trailer show? The new reveal trailer for Vessel of Hatred shows the Mercenaries. It was already known that the companions that were already in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 would return in the latest DLC.

In the new trailer, you see the four companions at the beginning in Diablo 4-typical illustrations. But for the first time, you also get a glimpse of the mercenaries’ abilities, and they look pretty good.

Companion with spectacular abilities

What abilities can you see in the trailer? Of course, the mercenaries are not only presented in illustrations. The trailer shows small scenes of the battles.

The Cursed Child seems to be able to transform into a demon that fights with powerful fire attacks. Outside of the demon form, the mercenary can make waves of fire that move forward. Shadow skills can also be seen.

The Shield Bearer can dash forward with his shield and create a kind of protective field. A scream is shown that draws the focus of the opponents. Like Captain America, the Shield Bearer also seems to be able to throw his shield.

Berserker Crone looks like the typical barbarian companion. She can pull enemies towards her. The trailer also shows actions with a powerful hammer and a powerful stomp jump towards an enemy.

The last in the group is the Bounty Hunter, who attacks from a distance with a bow. You can see the hunter’s hail of arrows and a kind of fire bomb. In the trailer you can see a ranged attack that the mercenary charges up beforehand.

Overall, the scenes with the mercenaries look pretty powerful. They fit perfectly with the gameplay of the different classes and seem like the perfect companions in the fight against demons. It won’t be long now, on October 8, 2024, that you can see for yourself the mercenaries and the new content of the DLC.
