Blizzard reveals in detail what happens to your characters at the end of WoW Mists of Pandaria Remix

In about a week, Mists of Pandaria Remix will be coming to an end in World of Warcraft. Timewalkers who took part in the nostalgic event will then land in the original timeline with customized equipment. Level 70 heroes can look forward to more powerful armor and weapons than expected.

Updated August 13, 2024: The Blizzard developers have now officially revealed what will happen to your characters when WoW Mists of Pandaria Remix ends.

  • All items, currencies (except gold), and quests will be removed from Timewalkers and their banks during the transition process, so be sure to spend your bronze!
  • The character conversion process may take a few minutes after you log in with your character.
  • In order for the conversion to take place, you must register with each individual time runner.
  • Characters retain their level.
  • Characters will receive gear up to level 467 for level 70 characters that matches their current specialization. Lower level characters will receive gear that matches their level.
  • Characters receive four 30-slot bags, with a 26-slot reagent bag.
  • Unlearned collectibles such as ensembles are sent to the character’s mailbox.
  • Horde characters are placed in Orgrimmar and Alliance characters are placed in Stormwind.
  • Characters will keep the gold they earned in Mists of Pandaria and receive a Time Walker’s Farewell Pack with a small amount of gold that scales with character level to help ease them into The War Within.

    • What happens at the end of Mists of Pandaria Remix? When the nostalgic event ends on August 19, 2024, participating Time Walkers will land at the corresponding embassies in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. The special equipment from MoP Remix will be replaced with new armor and weapons.

    Originally, characters who reached the maximum level of 70 during the event received equipment with an item level of 415. However, the Blizzard developers have since made further adjustments here.

    How good is the equipment now for MoP remix characters? Neryssa from Wowhead reports that the MoP Remix event on the PTR of Patch 11.0.2 has already ended and that Time Walkers there have received an equipment build with an item level of 467.

    For comparison: In the pre-event of The War Within, which is also currently running, you can easily earn equipment with an item level of 480 – which can also be upgraded with flight stones and crests from Dragonflight.

    This is how MeinMMO evaluates the adjustment: In the original version, the difference in quality of the equipment you receive through the two preparatory events was quite large: item level 415 versus 480+. The latest change closes the gap significantly, allowing both camps to slice their way through the regions of The War Within with momentum.

    Characters whose equipment has an item level of 467 will receive the first items that are likely to represent upgrades at level 74 or 75.
