Blizzard is soon nerfing some of the best builds in Diablo 4, too blatant, knocking everything out in one fell swoop

A few resourceful players are building the heaviest builds in Diablo 4 right now, allowing them to oneshot bosses multiple times and smack everything else in the game. Blizzard reacts, saying: this is not planned and will be changed.

What are these builds?

Is this allowed? Technically yes. No build really takes advantage of an exploit, it just builds on stacking as many modifiers as possible. This works with so-called “damage buckets” and above all the “vulnerable” effect.

Only Rob’s build only works because his opponent can’t die and he can stack the damage so unrealistically high. But since he doesn’t really kill anything with it, it can hardly be chalked up as a bug usage.

This is what Blizzard says now: In a conversation with PCGamer, Blizzard confirmed that such behavior is not intended. Builds shouldn’t do that much damage: “The team will [die Effekte] change in the near future to improve balance.”

So much damage was never intended

Many fans were amazed that such absurd numbers could even come about. Before the release, Blizzard said that damage numbers should not be as high. That was one of the things that bothered players about Diablo 3.

In the beta there were already builds that could dish out similar things, but at that time they still had bugs. The fact that “real” builds without exploits now also achieve such numbers should not be the case. We don’t yet know exactly what the nerfs will look like and when they will come.

Before the release of Season 1, Blizzard is planning a major patch with adjustments on July 18th. The developers already said that there will be a whole bunch of changes. There are no patch notes yet.

It is therefore possible that the nerfs will come with the patch for Season 1, maybe even with a hotfix earlier. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more about it.
