Blizzard is bringing the second new class for Diablo in a year, but it’s for the wrong Diablo again

Diablo gets a new class that lets you tame wind and water – but the class is again for the wrong Diablo.

In Diablo 4 you can currently choose between five different classes: Barbarians, Hunters, Wizards, Necromancers and Druids. This has not changed since the release almost a year ago in June 2023. Fans of the action RPG have been waiting in vain for a new class ever since.

On July 13, 2023, the popular ARPG series received a new class with the Blood Knight – but this was not available for Diablo 4. The Blood Knight only appeared for Diablo Immortal. Almost a year later, Diablo 4 players are still waiting for a new, sixth class.

Now Blizzard introduced a new class and announced: It is again only for Diablo Immortal.

While Diablo Immortal is getting a new class, the new season is starting in Diablo 4. Here you can see a trailer:

New class lets you tame wind and water

What kind of class will this be? On May 23, 2024, Diablo Immortal will receive the new eighth class, called “Tempest”. This is an agile fighter who is equipped with two bladed weapons and, according to Blizzard, rushes at his enemies “with wind and waves”.

In a video posted on YouTube, the class is briefly introduced and their skills are also shown. You can see how the player rides on a kind of whirlpool and moves quite quickly in this way. He also throws enemies with a wave attack and extends the range of his blade attacks with water and winds.

Why is it the “wrong” Diablo? Diablo 4 is actually the big new title in the popular franchise. Here, players pay full price to be able to play it on their consoles or gaming PC and expect major content updates on a regular basis.

In comparison, Diablo Immortal is something like the unloved middle child that only causes trouble. It’s free-to-play, playable only on PCs and mobile devices, and there are strong, ongoing P2W allegations against Diablo Immortal.

By the way, the new, fourth season of Diablo 4 starts next May 14, 2024. As usual, it should start at around 7 p.m. As in previous seasons, there will once again be a season theme: the iron wolves. Of course, the update for Season 4 has further changes in store. On MeinMMO you can see an overview with all the important information: Diablo 4 Season 4 Loot Reborn: Start, features and patch note
