With the Season of Discovery, Blizzard has created a playground in which developers can explore new concepts for WoW Classic – or bring completely new content. Such new content will appear in January and will particularly please veterans.
What kind of dungeon is this?
This is what makes the dungeon so special: Karazhan is actually a raid from The Burning Crusade, which is considered by many players to be the best raid of all time. The Deadwind Mountain Pass has been in the game since Classic.
The tower itself is the home of Medivh and later Khadgar, two of the most famous mages in Warcraft history. The catacombs below have been a mystery that players have been trying to figure out for over 20 years.
Originally, a thick metal grille blocked the entrance to the catacombs. Of course, some curious players glided through, only to find… nothing. There just wasn’t that much to see there back then, except for a few strange and creepy scenes.
Today the catacombs are at least necessary to get the mounts Lucid Nightmare and Incognitro. From the end of January you can also visit it as a real dungeon with friends.
Blizzard is planning big events for the Season of Discovery
The Karazhan Tombs are set to introduce a new “darkness mechanic” that will require players to “huddle together and stay in the light,” according to the official blog post. The dungeon is intended to be a challenge for well-equipped heroes.
The Scourge invasion will also begin on January 29th. Here it is said that, unlike before, there should be “no end in sight”. The developers don’t reveal what exactly that means.
A week later, on February 6th, Naxxramas will open. The raid can be entered with 20 to 40 players. You will find new mechanics and the “Empowerment” difficulty level here. The final bosses Sapphiron and Kel’thuzad are said to have new secrets in store.
WoW Classic is currently enjoying great popularity in all of its versions. However, the hardcore mode in particular is currently attracting attention, especially thanks to the celebrity guild OnlyFangs – and at the moment thanks to a big drama: No. 1 on Twitch is throwing former Blizzard developers out of his cool guild in WoW because he… Panic failed
