Blizzard had a fight with the coolest nun ever at the release of Diablo 4, now gives her the “key to hell”

At the launch of Diablo 4, actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg was angry with Blizzard. Now, at a cannabis event, a chilled peace summit took place between Goldberg, some demonic beings from the hell world and the head of the Diablo franchise.

Why was Whoopi Goldberg angry at Blizzard? When Diablo 4 was released for PC and consoles, all Mac users were left empty-handed. That was a surprise. After all, Diablo, Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 were still playable on the Mac. Actress Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act, Ghost) was annoyed about this in a message that went viral.

At the time, she requested a refund for the purchase of the game, which she received a few days later. To date, there is no official support for the Mac. Anyone who wants to play Diablo 4 on the Apple platform has to rely on third-party tools such as CrossOver.

What happened now? Over the weekend, the “A Night with Whoopi” event celebrating the cannabis brand Emma & Clyde took place in Venice Beach, California. In addition to weed connoisseurs, the head of the Diablo franchise, Rod Fergusson, and some demonic creatures from hell stopped by.

They gave the popular comedian the “key to hell” at the peace summit and let her do a round of looting and leveling in Diablo 4 (at least that’s what you can see in a picture from the Entertainment Weekly report). This probably lifts the mood in a similar way to the cannabis advertised at the event – but it’s unclear whether there were also sampling stations for this.

Successful even without Mac support

If you’re wondering how successful Diablo 4 can be without official Mac support: The fourth main part of the diabolical franchise already reached twelve million players in August 2023 – at that time the game was not yet available on Xbox Game Pass. In total, all parts are said to have been played by more than 100 million different monster hunters.

The next highlight is scheduled for October 8, 2024. That’s when Vessel of Hatred, the first expansion for Diablo 4, will be released. It will include a continuation of the story, the new Spiritborn class, the Torajan region, and more.
