Blizzard boss personally congratulates Veteran for solo killing the 12-player world boss

At the server slam of diablo 4 you could kill the world boss Ashava again and this time there was even a special reward. The boss is actually intended for 12 players, but like during the first beta, the fat MMO boss fell against a solo player again. Even Blizzard congratulates.

Over the past weekend, players were once again able to test their favorite classes in Diablo 4. The server slam was a last chance to test the game before the release on June 6th, 2023.

As in the first Open Beta, the world boss Ashava was there again. However, this time players could no longer level up to level 25, but only up to level 20. As a result, fewer (strong) skills were available to defeat the boss.

The YouTuber wudijo already defeated Ashava in the first beta phase with only his hunter in hardcore mode. But even with the strict conditions of the server slam, he dared to face the world boss alone – and triumphed.

You can see what the hunter class from wudijo is capable of in the trailer:

how did he do that? Since the drop rate of legendary items was reduced to normal during the server slams, wudijo had to farm longer in advance to get the rare equipment.

In addition, he has had his equipment upgraded to level 3 by the blacksmith and used gems that give additional bonuses. Above all, he relied on further maximum life and increased critical damage. He also got increased attack speed from a potion.

In the end, the YouTuber even has a minute left. You can follow his epic fight in the English video:

What reaction has Blizzard shown? His performance even impressed the minds behind Diablo 4. Mike Ybarra, President of Blizzard Entertainment, found out about wudijo’s latest achievement. He jokes that Ashava needs some more buffing to make it even harder for the YouTuber (via twitter.com).

Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher is also enthusiastic about the achievement and congratulates wudijo on its success:

What do players say about this? Many players are impressed that he defeated the world boss even on hardcore difficulty. A thread with over 300 comments has been created on Reddit (via reddit.com). A user notes here that it is “no wonder given the damage”.

For example, in my own test run, the hunter caused an average damage of under 100, in the video it is significantly higher.

Many players have also questioned how the YouTuber was able to go it alone against Ashava in the first place. The answer is simple: Hardly anyone is crazy enough to face Ashava on the highest level of difficulty and in hardcore mode at that.

That’s why wudijo was on the move without any comrades-in-arms, the servers were emptier than in the normal modes.

As a result, Ashava was weaker. As the YouTuber explained in another video (via YouTube), the world boss scales with the number of players. So a single player has a weaker opponent than a squad of 12 people.

Which build did wudjo use? Since he could only level up to level 20 during the server slam, he didn’t take the same abilities with him as he did on his last attempt. So he changed his build a bit and used the following skills:

  • concealment
  • poison trap
  • dash
  • Venom Infusion
  • heart seeker
  • rapid fire
  • Did you manage to defeat Ashava? How many attempts did it take you to do this?
