US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken says he is convinced that Sweden and Finland will be admitted to NATO, despite Turkey’s opposition.
The statement came on Thursday after a several-hour meeting with the Swedish and Finnish foreign ministers in Washington.
According to Blinken, Sweden and Finland are ready – and both countries have taken measures to meet Turkey’s demands.
– Based on everything I know, I am convinced that we can soon formally call both countries our allies, said Blinken.
