Officers called to a Park Avenue East-area domestic dispute about 7:30 pm Monday learned that earlier in the day, an argument between a man and woman turned physical, police said.

The man blocked a door, refused to let the woman leave, then pushed her to the floor and choked her before she got away and called police, police said.
A Blenheim man, 26, is charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement, police said. He was released with conditions and a Dec. 18 court date.
