Blake Lively asked a Marvel icon to return in Deadpool & Wolverine, but Ryan Reynolds botched it

Blake Lively asked a Marvel icon to return in Deadpool

Deadpool & Wolverine is the summer blockbuster of the year and has already reached one milestone after another at the box office. The reason for this is not only the absurd, brilliant action, but also a cameo spectacle that combines over 26 years of Marvel history.

Even though stars like Wesley Snipes and Jennifer Garner are in the running, one big Marvel star didn’t make it into the film: Halle Berry, who played the mutant Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, in the X-Men films. And that’s despite Berry even talking to Blake Lively about a return.

Blake Lively asked Halle Berry if she would return in Deadpool & Wolverine

As Halle Berry explained in an interview with Comic Book, she met Ryan Reynolds’ wife and Lady Deadpool actress Blake Lively at a fashion show, where the actress asked her about returning to Deadpool & Wolverine:

Blake asked me when we happened to meet at the Marc Jacobs fashion show. She said, ‘Would you return as Storm in my husband’s film?’ And I said, ‘Yes, if he asks me.’

However, Halle Berry explained that the question never came from lead actor and producer Ryan Reynolds personally: “But he never asked me.”
