According to Variety Amazon has ordered a miniseries that is a sequel to the movie “Blade runner”, called “Blade runner 2099”.
“The original ‘Blade Runner,’ directed by Ridley Scott, is considered one of the greatest and most influential science fiction films of all time, and we look forward to introducing ‘Blade Runner 2099’ to our global Prime Video audience,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, according to Variety.
What the series will be about is unclear, but if the title is any clue, it will take place 50 years after the events of the sequel “Blade runner 2049”, which was released in 2017. Ridley Scott is on board as an executive producer, while the so-called showrunner is Silka Luisa, who, among other things, has producer roles for “Halo” and “Shining girls” on her CV.
