The strike of American cinema and TV workers began to affect the sector. Blade was the first movie to be affected by the strike that started last week.
Marvel Studios has halted pre-production on the vampire thriller Blade starring Mahershala Ali, which is scheduled to begin filming in Atlanta next month. The project, which was paused once before, became the first movie to be affected by the strike that started last week in the cinema and TV industry.
Marvel’s Blade filming halted
The strike began last Tuesday. However, Blade is not the first production to be affected. It was especially effective on late night talk shows. Due to the strike, apart from Blade, the TV series Billions, which aired on Showtime, also stopped production in the past few days.
For Blade, True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto was recently hired to work on the script, but it looks like he’ll have to wait until the strike is over before work can begin.
Although the strike, which has come to a period when Marvel is very busy, has not yet affected the productions that are in the shooting phase or about to start, we do not know how the process will progress. Captain America: The New World Order is filmed in Atlanta. Deadpool 3 will begin filming at the end of this month. Although there does not appear to be a problem for now, we do not know what the coming days will bring.
If you remember, there had been strikes in the sector before and it made the meeting process of many productions with the big screen difficult. We hope that this time the problem will be solved in a short time and we will meet with the productions we expect without any delay.
The release date of the Blade movie, which will take place in the 5th phase of Marvel, is set as September 6, 2024.
