Blackstenius’ goalscorer – saved Arsenal in the CL semis

Not many believed in Arsenal during the first half hour of the Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg.

The Germans got the match off to a flying start and took the lead through Ewa Pajor. Five minutes later, Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir made it 2-0 and for a long time it looked dark for the London club.

But just before the half-time break came that important reduction goal that brought the game to life.

At the far post, Rafaelle Souza appeared and headed in 1–2.

In the second half, it was a better Arsenal that came out, but the hot goalscoring chances were conspicuous by their absence.

But then out of nowhere came the equalizing goal. Victoria Pelova found Stina Blackstenius who poked in 2-2 from close range.

Wolfsburg pushed for a lead, but Arsenal held on and the match ended 2–2.

The return leg will be played in London on May 1.
