Black Ops 6 banned, says his buddy is to blame

The German YouTuber “Haptic” can only play against cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and a friend of his is to blame.

Who is it about? It’s about the German YouTuber and CoD expert Cem Gülken aka Haptic/ HapticRush.

  • Haptic has over 889,000 subscribers on the HapticRush channel on YouTube and his videos regularly reach over 250,000 views
  • On HapticRush he primarily focuses on Call of Duty, most recently of course Black Ops 6
  • Haptic has been playing Call of Duty since Black Ops 1 and regularly shows in his videos and streams that he has become an expert over the years at playing the shooter at a high level
  • In a video on his YouTube channel, Haptic explains that he can only play against cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 since he lent his account to a friend.

Why is he only allowed to play against cheaters? Haptic says in a video that he received a so-called shadow ban in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, this ban only affects the YouTuber’s main account, so he can continue to play normally on other accounts.

A shadow ban is different from a normal ban. After a shadow ban, you can still play Black Ops 6 – but only against other players who also have a shadow ban.

These are primarily cheaters and players who were wrongly banned for cheating. In Black Ops 6 he only meets players who were considered cheaters and spoilsports.

A friend is to blame for the ban – not the nephew

Why was he banned? The YouTuber says he is not to blame for his ban. He lent his account to a friend to play with. However, he was much better than the YouTuber, which is why the anticheat system thought he was cheating when a performance boost was suddenly detected on the account.

In the video, Haptic also explains that the friend is also banned from his own account. He earned camos (weapon camouflage) and therefore performed below his level for a while. When he had all the camouflages, the gaming performance increased and the system thought that he was using cheats – as is now the case with the Haptic account.

Haptic also emphasizes that he was not banned for reverse boosting/nephew accounts – i.e. for influencing matchmaking using an account that had previously intentionally played poorly in order to get lobbies with worse players.

YouTuber HapticRush explains in the video why he was banned from CoD Black Ops 6.

Can’t he ask Activision if they can unban him? The ban shows that Haptic, as a large CoD YouTuber, is not protected from punishment. He himself says in the video that he has contacted Activision, but there is no “whitelist” – so a ban can really affect anyone. So it remains blocked for the time being.

Overall, false bans are a big topic in the Black Ops 6 community and are being discussed a lot on social networks. For example, a post on Reddit garnered over 800 upvotes and around 400 comments. Many players write in the comments that they received a shadow ban without cheating.

An exploit that caused tons of false bans in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone was only fixed in October 2024. To provoke a ban, malicious players only had to write a few simple words: Call of Duty fixes exploit that banned you if malicious players wrote 2 words in the chat
