Political scandal in India around a rice stand in a village in Telangana. The finance minister, traveling in the opposition-ruled state, has complained that there are not enough photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The opposition rises in return against this interference of the BJP party.

Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was visiting a rice stand subsidized by the central government in the village of Birkoor this Friday, September 2. She took the opportunity to lecture the local manager.

Growing animosity
After the media seized on it, the affair took a national turn. She epitomizes the animosity between the central BJP government and the opposition-led states.
The Minister of Finance assumed her position on Saturday. In a press conference where media deemed “harmful” had been excluded, she demanded that all projects that the central government funds, even in part, be indicated as such.
On the same day, opposition supporters in Telangana ironically posted pictures of Narendra Modi on gas canisters, the price of which is skyrocketing in India.
