Björn was not only very good at tennis, but also incredibly popular for his wonderful personality. He won everyone’s hearts and became an idol throughout our long country.

Björn’s favorite team

A clear proof of his greatness and popularity is that Björn Borg was named “Swedish sportsman of the century” by the Swedish Sports Academy in 2000, ahead of greats like Ingemar Stenmark and Jan-Ove Waldner. But then Borg does the forbidden and chooses four (!) different teams as his favorite teams.
– Charlton Athletic, Södertälje SK, Hammarby Bandy and New Jersey Devils, he has admitted.

“Am a big fan”

The interest in Charlton comes from his father.
– I think I was seven or eight years old when I saw Charlton play for the first time. Dad could talk about Charlton all day. He had flags and everything, Borg said in an interview with the English club.
– It doesn’t matter if they win or lose. I will always be a huge Charlton fan. I follow them all over the world, wherever I am.

Even the interest in bandy comes from childhood and that’s where Hammarby’s team is.
– Yes, I love bandy. I have been to Zinken many times, Borg has admitted.
– I actually played a little bandy when I was young.
