Björklöven won the summit against Brynäs

It was scoreless for a long time in the well-played summit meeting in the hockey Allsvenskan between Brynäs and Björklöven.

Brynäs dominated large parts of the match and won the shots with 38–19, but failed to get a hole on the big-playing Joona Voutilainen in Lövenkassen.

With just over seven minutes left in the final period, Jordie Benn, brother of Dallas Stars team captain Jamie Benn, was sent off after cross-checking Björklöven’s Fredric Weigel.

Björklöven took a timeout and faithful Alexander Wiklund was able to score 1-0 after Nick Shilkey’s fine play.

“I haven’t drunk that much beer”

Brynäs took out the goalkeeper, but Björklöven won 2–0 after Joel Mustonen scored in an empty net.

– I think we fought really well today, Jooni is having a fantastic match. We fight like hell, says Alexander Wiklund to TV4 Play after the match.

About his fine form after the summer, he says:

– I haven’t drunk that much beer (laughs). I had a really tough season last year physically. Nice to be whole again and be able to do yourself justice.
