Joker 2: Folie à deux causes a stir with unexpected headlines. While creative chaos usually characterizes the production plan in DC film adaptations, the second part of the Joker saga seems to have a completely different problem on the set: extras complain about not enough toilet breaks.
As the tabloid TMZ has learned from its sources, there have been in the past few weeks several complaints due to the tight schedule. Filming is said to have taken up to two hours without a break. If you wanted to go to the toilet, you had to give your superiors a very good reason.
Joker 2 does not let its extras go to the toilet
According to TMZ, people often refuse to go to the toilet, even when it’s urgent. Some extras no longer dare to ask an assistant director, there others have already been insulted. Even between different set-ups it should not be possible to go to a toilet.

The situation is apparently so drastic that reaching for the water bottle is commented on with the following words: “Why are you drinking more water? So you have to pee again?” According to TMZ, the case was therefore referred to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the US Actors’ Union.
The SAG has investigated whether there is a violation of the break time in Joker 2: Folie à deux. Warner Bros. Discovery is said to have been very cooperative with the investigation so far. However, it is not finished yet. The SAG wants to continue to monitor the set to protect the rights of the extras.
As absurd as the allegations sound, it’s not the first time such headlines have appeared in connection with a DC film. Actually happened while filming the first part a similar scandal when several people were locked in a subway car for three hours and had to urinate on the tracks.
Joker 2: Folie à deux starts on October 3, 2024 in German cinemas.
