During Friday, a 38-year-old woman died in Villarreal, Spain, after suffering a cardiac arrest, which was probably caused by her hamster biting her. It reports Spanish La Vanguardia.
The woman was on her way to the health center, along with her children, to seek care after feeling ill from the bite. But she collapsed a few meters from the entrance, reports the newspaper.
Despite life support measures, her life could not be saved, and she was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The incident occurred at 22:00 in the Carinyena district.
The exact cause of death has not yet been determined, but there are many indications that the woman suffered a so-called anaphylactic shock, a serious reaction that may have triggered a heart condition.
An autopsy will be conducted on the body to determine the exact cause of death.
