Bird flu detected in Hungary and Italy | News in brief

Cases of bird flu of the H5N1 type have been detected on farms in Hungary and Italy, the international agency for animal infectious diseases, WOAH, says.

These are the first cases detected in the countries for months. According to WOAH, the disease threatens to spread more widely in Europe.

In Hungary, bird flu was detected in the eastern parts of the country. In Italy, a bird flu case was confirmed in the northeast.
